it doesn't, i cant even connect to that address, you must be behind a firewall.

besides, you can always make a village out in mine without having a creeper kill you from 30 metres away...no offence DF btw, I just hate lag ;)

Daniel put some towns in yourself, I cant make a town without people :P
tell you what, everyone who helps with starting the town gets chainmail vests...and a gold sword...
I WILL supply all of the required materials, so long as its not solid ore blocks(iron,gold,diamond)

i will make a town but i will need help getting to my required location. next to charlies house or somewhere there is a good landmark

my single player map is gone.... it just vanished.... my castle, my floating island, my pub, and my arena are all gone along with it....

i have decided to make a server to compensate for this loss i just need one of you people with a server to guide me with how to make one. there will be diamonds in it for you!

can we have this map for MPS

no mods for my server yet, idk how to install SMP mods :P

[edit] ok so here's the deal:
im planning on making a spawn house, obviously near spawn. I already came up with a good design on SSP and would have made it by now if I wasnt lagging so badly(its worse than my old portable internet)...
this house will consist of three floors:
ground floor - this contains various supplies, and once I get it going I will not hack stuff in so please keep the chests full by depositing spare items there!
first floor - this will have a lot of furnaces in for people to smelt their stuff in
basement - this will have beds in it...for sleeping...and sleepovers o.O
I do plan on expanding this, into a form of small village. maybe with some lava lights or something...idk but we'll get to that...anyways dont get carried away if it does get civilised, I dont want a mega village with huge stone/glass/bedrock(lol) walls around everything, just a sort of village where we all hang out.

I have placed 5 stone blocks in the sand, idk if I lagged out before of after I placed them so dont build yet...

[re-edit] ok NOW I fixed my internet and made the spawn house...daniel seeing as you liked civilisedness you should take a look :P

FINALLY, a lack of suckiness. BTW, let's pray that your internet service stays the way it is so you server doesn't lag to high hell again.

How on earth did you manage to break it?

Anyway...

On 7 at least you need to...

1) Go to C:/Users/<your user>/AppData/Roaming/.minecraft
    (at least some of those are going to be hidden)
2) delete the "bin" folder.

delete the minecraft.jar file...
and yes daniel, by your standards it doesnt suck :P
and Andrew, you can do it two ways:
1. [my way] get a dedicated server online
2. [DFs way] download the minecraft_server.exe file and run it...hopefully you wont need to do anything complicated ;)

[edit] also, server appears to be down...gonna investigate :P
you may have to wait an hour or two...shouldnt be too long it was up yesterday...
this usually happens when the server crashes and the other games there start back up by themselves. MineCraft has to be manually booted back up tho...

If it was a hi-res texture pack then that would explain it.

Edit: In that case, deleting the texture pack should fix it.

Sorry, had to change that. :)

The problem is, if you're behind a router then you need to port forward so that people outside can connect. That's about all the complicated stuff involved...

hopefully I can get the server started up again...soon...

ok the server is running now...
[edit] has it went down again or is it just me? (adam was on with me)
[re-edit] hooray for NullPointerException bugs -_-
ok so the server is now down AGAIN, it will be moved because its affecting the other servers on the computer its on, so you will have to wait until tomorrow for a possible fix.

At least mine is completly stable. :)

Marc, be careful! Don't kill your server when it's actually starting not to suck!
